The Lake: Please note: If clear water swimming, power boating, and game fishing right outside your door is a priority for your vacation then this property would NOT be a good fit. Lake Sinissippi is a scenic, shallow (3- 8 foot), mud bottom, marshy lake located 7 miles downstream on the Rock River from the Horicon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge which is the largest freshwater cattail marsh in North America. Prairie House guests are welcome to use 2 kayaks, 2 canoes, paddleboat and life jackets for exploring the marshy bays and eagle nesting area. The pier and boat shed are a 5 minute stroll on a wide grassy path that winds past the garden/orchard and ambles along the prairie and naturalized shoreline. Swimming: For clear water swimming we recommend two nearby water parks (15 mi) with children's water play areas, or the sand beach lakes at Pike Lake State Park and Lake La Belle (both within 25 mi). Fishery: Lake Sinissippi has mostly rough fish with the occasional bass, walleye or northern caught below the dam in Hustisford. For pan fishing we recommend Pike Lake, Fox Lake, or Beaver Dam Lake and for serious game fishing we can recommend an expert fishing guide who specializes in walleye, northern pike and bass fishing on local lakes such as Green Lake (60 mi). The House: Upstairs: Guests will appreciate the spacious commercial-grade kitchen, large adjoining dining area with vista views. All water sports are permitted including water skiing and jet skis. Winter snowmobiling trails only 300 feet away in Washington County and nearby Dodge County. Popular ice fishing lake. There are more ice fishing shanties in winter than boats in summer. In May 2015 we completed replacement of the kitchen with all new cabinets, solid surface counters, lighting, flooring, all appliances (including full size dishwasher). New flooring in the 1/2 bath and dining area. Some furnishings were replaced as well. We only have this property and clean and care for it ourselves to ensure everything is ready to make those great memories. Duvet cover and blankets are washed after each guest. One side of your private pier is included in your rental fee. Pier is left in until the end of October for some great fall fishing. Assorted life jackets are supplied . Fishing boats may be rented at nearby (three buildings away) Reef Point Resort. They also have row boats, canoes, and additional paddle boats, for those looking to get some exercise. Pontoon boat rental may be arranged with owner. It has Wi-Fi, High Speed Internet, 3 TVs with cable, DVD Players, DVD library, book library, board games, and a nautical theme throughout. The home includes all dishes, utensils, linens, bedding, towels, life jackets, water flotation toys, games, Cinderella toy kitchen, toys. There is also a frog sandbox and sand toys outside. They can entertain the kids for hours. Also there is a wagon, and upon request, a Little Tyke scooter and a car for the kids to use outside. This home has a lakeside patio with adjustable height charcoal grill, 2 patio tables, chairs, etc. Home is about 1950 square feet, (more than just a cottage), with central heat and air conditioning. One bedroom is huge with bay window overlooking the lake and a queen size bed (replaced in 2017). The second upstairs bedroom, very large, has a queen size bed (plus a race car toddler bed) and large windows to enjoy the unobstructed lake views. Race car bed could also be moved to the other upstairs bedroom if you wish. The third bedroom is located on the main level with two twin beds and great lake views. There is also a full size futon on the first floor. There is a Porta Crib for your youngest sweethearts. There is very ample paved parking and a large rear grassy yard; lakeside fire pit for campfires; boat launch very nearby (at Reef Point Resort) and at Pike Lake State Park across the lake with a beach and great hiking trails (they have maps that tell you how long each route is). No Smoking! No Cats! The home you would be renting is the closest building to the lake. The lake side of the home is close to the waters edge, about 30 feet. Don t be fooled by some maps or GPS systems that make it seem far away . That happens because the lot is 397 feet deep and it shows the address as the spot at the road or the center of the lot and not where the house is. It is known as a premier fishing lake in /Southeastern WI and the fishing is great. On 7/14/14 the neighbor caught a 28 inch walleye. Even in winter there were over 50 ice fishing shanties at one time. You will love it here if you enjoy catching Walleyes, Bass, Pike, Northern, or pan fish. (Sept.2011 - A renter reported catching a 30 inch Nothhern from the pier in their first three hours there. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) helps out the fish population by stocking. The sun over the Lake and the colors of the sky are awsome on most days. You will probably also enjoy the beautiful fall color in late September and October with the trees at Pike lake State Park directly across the lake. I saw three deer last time I was on a short hike at the park. Only 7.8 miles, about 13 minutes to Erin Hills Golf Course - site of the 2017 US Open! Near other local great golf courses. Only 20 minutes from Milwaukee with a world class zoo, Betty Brin Childrens Museum as well as Milwaukee Public Museum, Milwaukee Brewer baseball, art galleries, Brewery tours, Pabst mansion tours, Lake Michigan Lakefront and beaches, live theater, comedy clubs, many ethnic festivals and the largest music fest in the USA - Summerfest, Wisconsin State Fair in early August, etc. Property is about one hour from Madison, WI; an hour and a quarter from Appleton,WI; and less than two hours from Chicago. Close to Holy Hill Church, about 10 minutes. A trip to Green Bay and Lambeau Field, home of the NFL Green Bay Packers is an easy day trip. There are plenty of kitchen utensils, plates , silverware, glassware and cookware available to make even the best of chefs enviable .The large pantry adjacent to the kitchen is a great place to store food items etc. It also stores extra kitchen and bathroom supplies including bathtowels, washclothes etc.. You will also love the views of the lake even from the kitchen! Saving the best for last, is our comfortable Living Room. Again with great lake views from the wall of windows and relaxed seating, you can enjoy another 55 inch flatscreen with your favorite shows while keeping an eye and ear on the beautiful water right outside your window. All and all, relaxation is the name of the game at this vacation home. Right down the stairs, is a Washer and Dryer in the basement that can be used at no charge. We will provide some laundry detergent in our kitchen pantry. Outside is a nice concrete drive for you to park your vehicle and boat trailer if you bring a boat. This home does include a small fishing boat for your enjoyment. You are welcome to bring along up to a 25 hp outboard motor to attach to the boat or simply use the boat paddles provided. There is also room at the pier to dock your own boat or jet ski if you decide to bring it for either fishing/waterskiing or just simply site-seeing. A very nice boat launch is just adjacent to our home. Life preservers will be provided at our home but we always stress safety with all water activities including knowing proper boating rules and so note that guests proceed at their own risk and hold the homeowner free of any liability associated with all water activities. Across the lake is the Pike Lake National Park for picnics, swimming at a beautiful sandy beach and picturesque hiking trails thru the Kettle Moraine. These wonderful hiking trails are open all year long and provide great views of the countryside and Pike Lake. In the Winter time , we have excellent ice fishing basically right outside our door and the annual Ice Fishing Tournament at Reefs Point, a resort/bar right down the way from our home. Snowmobiling is also a great sport on the lake during the winter of fun on the ice for that and beautiful ice skating right outside your door. After an afternoon of hiking or a great day on the Lake, we have some excellent restaurants and pubs in and around the city of Hartford. From Mexican restaurants such as Casa Tiquilla to great fish frys ,burgers and pizza at the Mine Shaft, there is a wonderful variety of Eateries within minutes of our home. Also, after dinner at the Mine Shaft, there is a huge amusement game room at their location for all ages to enjoy. Not to forget the Subways, Dominos and McDonalds of the world, we have plenty of those also right near-by as well. The kids will also enjoy the outdoor basketball and tennis courts on hwy 60, a few minutes from the house. Approximately 20 minutes from our home, you may want to visit Milwaukee to experience some of the best festivals in the country. Milwaukee is also rich in culture in our new Art museum on Lake Michigan and Natural History Museum downtown. Many people love to visit the Milwaukee Public Market which is a great place to experience different foods and buy from local vendors. Milwaukee is also home to the famed Milwaukee Brewers baseball and Milwaukee Bucks basketball Teams. Your family would really enjoy the atmosphere of any of their games. 4 bedroom, 2 bath right on Pike Lake. Two of the bedrooms are located upstair(both with king size beds), one on the main floor ( brand new full size bed) and one in the lower level ( full size bed). One gas fireplace and one natural fireplace. All of the rooms are spacious and very cosy. The 3700 square ft is completely remodeled and ready for your stay here in Milwaukee. Plenty of onsite parking. Great summer views of the lake. Extremely safe area for you and your family or friends. Easy commute to downtown, and lots of onsite parking. No smoking. Our home is located on Lac La Belle in Oconomowoc. Less than a 30 minute drive to Erin Hills Golf Course, site of the 2017 US Open and close to the fall colors and the Kettle Moraine. The home is close to numerous restaurants in the area. The home is over 4,000 sq ft on a private drive. A great home for family to work from home, attend classes on line or a get away vacation. Big Cedar Lake home rental. The home is newly renovated, modern, and looks brand new inside and out. You won't be renting somebody's lived-in home. This property is a an occasional use home free of any clothing or other personal items. The accommodations can sleep 8 or more people, with a queen bed in the master, day bed that extends into a king in the second bedroom, and full/twin bunk bed in the third bedroom plus a day bed that extends into a king bed. The owner keeps a boat and jet ski at the pier and may use them during someone's stay, but the owner will not access the house during this time. If you're interested in surfing or watersports behind the boat let's talk. Pontoon boat rentals are available on the lake for $350/day.
